Our History With a legacy dating back more than 160 years, RBH has continually evolved through strategic mergers, partnerships, and acquisitions. 1858 The origins of Richard Baker Harrison can be traced back to 1858, when Mr Richard Baker founded a trading company in London. 1934 Hubron was founded by Mr Hugh Brown in Manchester to supply elastomeric compounds. 1954 Hubron became distributer of Goodyear Tire Chemicals, becoming Hubron Rubber Chemicals. 1959 Richard Baker purchased W Harrison & Co. becoming Richard Baker Harrison Ltd. 1960 Richard Baker Harrison began sourcing functional minerals from Asia, developing key partnerships in China. 1990 Both Richard Baker Harrison & Hubron Speciality progressively expanded into Adhesives, Sealants, Plastics, Composites and Coatings. 2000 Hubron partnered with KingYorker & Arkema products supporting thermoplastics expansion. 2007 Richard Baker Harrison purchased Whitfield & Sons, subsequently relocating to Newcastle-under-Lyme. 2017 Richard Baker Harrison and Hubron Speciality both operate within the OBG group. 2019 The two organisations pooled products, services and resources, rebranding as RBH. 2021 Further Growth for RBH with acquisition of Polymer Specialist, Dunwood Polymers 2021 Acquisition of Geniechem Ltd & Geniechem (Europe)Ltd 2022 Richard Baker Harrison acquire Faber&Vanderende BV as part of a European Expansion There’s more to explore Products Explore RBH’s portfolio of specialty chemicals, functional additives, and mineral based materials, sourced from trusted global partners to support performance, compliance, and consistency.
